Santa's coming to town...
We are settling into the holiday season with some cocoa, no snow, but a few wishes for the New Year! A wish that 2018 will bring more love and joy and above all peace. It has been many years since I have actually sat down and made a Santa List, so I am enjoying this even if Santa doesn't find his way to my studio! Over the last year I have made note of my most favorite things that I would want to find Christmas morning under my tree... so here we go!
This yarn is a must! A dream to have my own textile shop may have to wait, but when that dream comes true malabrigo yarn will be the only yarn in-store! I fell in love with this yarn with my first knit stitch. And look at all the new colors! Head to their website, check out the latest and put this on your list...
...along with a collection of malabrigo books!
Oh if I could have a complete set of these needles!! We have tried so many different brands and needles made from various materials - woods, metals, plastic - and there are none that compare to the quality and durability of these needles! New for 2018 are the LYKKE Indigo and LYKKE Umber needle sets. Try these and you'll throw all your other needles away.
Selvedge is a bimonthly textile magazine featuring textiles in fine art, craft, design, interiors and shopping. At the heart of the Selvedge story is a cerebral and sensual addiction to cloth and with that an appreciation of the beautifully made and carefully considered. Exploring and understanding the history, future, politics and aesthetics of textiles with its own distinct voice. Perfect reading for year-round!
The new color for 2018 Pantone 18-3838, also known as Ultra Violet, would definitely make my morning, afternoon and evening coffee brighter! Who doesn't love this color?? Thank goodness they didn't pick yellow...hahaha!
Two products that are magical together! The Knitter's Keeper and Knitting Row Counter by CocoKnits are the perfect gift to keep track of everything from needles, stitch markers AND your rows. We love the magnetic feature of this counter so yes we want both of these super cool accessories!
What fun we could have with this Washi Tape by Chicken Boots...stocking stuffer?? Yes!
Almost impossible to get by without these two things...my stack of knitting is just waiting to be blocked and finished. We found so many blocking mat sets but the one from Hephaestus not only has 9 - 12" x 12" interlocking blocks, bu they have a 1" grid - perfect! And although we love our T-pins, this set of KnitBlockers from Jimmy Beans had to go on our list and such fun colors.
I think our list could probably keep growing, but as Christmas is almost here we need to rush off our Santa Letter.
So Dear Santa,
Please bring something for under my tree this year! The cookies are being made and as milk is never fun to drink warm, we will set out vin chaud to keep you going all night!
Cheers from Swatch + Spool
